Internal Reference: NIR-NED2

Ned 2 is a six-axis robotic arm, specially developed for educational applications. The robot can reproduce the most advanced applications with a precision and repeatability of 0.5 mm. The aluminium structure makes the Ned2 robust and smooth, allowing it to perform the movements required for your robotics projects fluidly. This cobot utilises the capabilities of the Raspberry Pi 4, featuring a high-performance 64-bit ARM V8 processor, 2 GB RAM, and enhanced connectivity.

Ned 2 is a collaborative robot based on Ubuntu 18.04 and ROS (Robot Operating System) Melodic, an open-source solution created for robotics. Through ROS, Ned2 has several libraries that allow you to create programmes, from the simplest to the most complex, which then respond in a flexible manner.

Ergonomic Control panel

Control your robot without programming using the control panel.

Flexible back panel

Use the panel on the back to expand your project with sensors and accessories.

Easy connect system

Plug & play system with magnets for quickly changing grippers.

Niryo Studio

  • Activate Ned2's learning mode to manually position it and teach it to reproduce positions. Control Ned2 with the press of a button.

  • With Niryo Studio, the free software, you can use blocks to create your own robot programmes. Based on Blockly (similar to Scratch), you can quickly and easily create robot programmes with our visual programming interface without any prior knowledge of programming..

  • Use an Arduino or Raspberry Pi to control Ned via the digital inputs and outputs (tutorial).

  • Advanced: develop your own controller (use a computer mouse, keyboard, game controller, or Leap Motion to control Ned according to your own preferences and needs), use the API (Python, Modbus, TCP) to control Ned directly or remotely, or dive straight into the open source ROS code.

Applications

You use Ned2 in educational or research applications. A safe collaborative robot, from the industrial reality..

  • Use a visual programming method for the simplest processes (Blockly, similar to Scratch).
  • Write your own programmes that allow you to create complex processes using AI for visual applications.
  • Design industrial scenarios such as "pick & place" (picking up an object to move it) or "pick & pack" (picking an object and placing it in packaging).
